Mayor Brian McMullan poses with graduating international students from Brock.International students were celebrated in St. Catharines this month at a reception hosted by Mayor Brian McMullan.McMullan was heralding the cultural and financial impact of international students in St. Catharines. The reception was held on March 7 at city hall and attended by students graduating from Brock.Murray Knuttila, Provost and Vice-President Academic, spoke on behalf of the University. Daniel Antwi-Amoabang, Graduate Students’ Association president and an international student from Ghana, spoke on behalf of the students.A group of Ghanaian students who danced and drummed. David Nan Yun, an MBA student from China, also performed.
At 8 a.m. on Monday Sept. 18, a new corridor will enable people to access Schmon Tower elevators from both sides of the Tower lobby.After three months of taking basement or rooftop detours to reach elevators that would get them to the upper Tower floors, pedestrians will again be able to reach the lobby-level elevators directly from either side of the Tower.They will also be able to fully traverse the Tower lobby, between the Matheson Learning Commons to the west and, to the east, the Thistle vestibule/Tim Horton’s kiosk area near Mackenzie Chown Complex. This will be available during hours when the James A. Gibson Library is open.The lobby washrooms will remain out of service while the Brock LINC construction project continues.
