Morocco Gains Six Spots in Global Innovation Index 2016

Geneva – Morocco moved six spots in the Global Innovation Index 2016, ranking as 72nd out of 128 countries, according to a report by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), presented on Monday in Geneva.Based on the “Global Innovation Index 2016”, the Kingdom is among countries with best ranked economies of average intermediary income given the main analysis criteria as the innovation quality and expenditure.Morocco posted an average figure of 32.26 points enabling it to rank with Tunisia in the 77th spot, ahead of Egypt (107th) and Algeria (113th). The Kingdom is among the sixteen countries of north Africa and western Asia which are positioned among the top 100, notably Qatar (50th), Bahrain (57th), Kuwait (67th), Oman (73rd) and Jordan (82nd).
